I was almost done with this week's image! Just some minor effects in the face and would be what I wanted! An authentic poster of a country blues singer I saw in a bar inspired me to do this poster. But as I was browsing the web this morning, I came across the word "sharecropping".
I looked the word up and realized its a tradition in Midwest among farmers and land owners.
I started to imagine John Hurt cropping cotton and singing along since he also was a farmer. Golden land of harvest season and farmers under the sun. This image is so powerful in my mind that I actually would like to paint and bring it to the class today!

Look forward to seeing it, Arya. MJH is a complicated person--and the background he comes from his important to explore. There's much in it of the kind of thing you respond to--and (not in a literal way) to things you've experienced. All good...
